The Basic SEO
1. Insert keywords within the title tag so that search engine robots will know what your page is about. The title tag is located right at the top of your document within the head tags. Inserting a keyword or key phrase will greatly improve your chances of bringing targeted traffic to your site. Make sure that the title tag contains text which a human can relate to. The text within the title tag is what shows up in a search result. Treat it like a headline.
2. Make sure that the text within the title tag is also within the body of the page. It is unwise to have keywords in the title tag which are not contained within the body of the page. Adding the exact same text for your h1 tag will tell the reader who clicks on your page from a search engine result that they have clicked on the correct link and have arrived at the page where they intended to visit. Robots like this too because now there is a relation between the title of your page and the headline.
Also, sprinkle your keywords throughout your article. The most important keywords can be bolded or colored in red. A good place to do this is once or twice in the body at the top of your article and in the sub-headings.
3. AFTER you have your site content start keyword researching-There are tools you can use for keyword research; Wordtracker and The Google AdWords Keyword Tool to name but two. I personally use a combination of the Google Keyword Tool, Google LSI and T.J. Common Sense.
4. Do not use the exact same title tag on every page on your website. Search engine robots might determine that all your pages are the same if all your title tags are the same. If this happens, your pages might not get indexed. I always use the headline of my pages as the title tag to help the robots know exactly what my page is about. A good place to insert the headline is within the h1 tag. So the headline is the same as the title tag text.
5. Robots Text File - robots.txt -The robots.txt file is a set of instructions for visiting robots (spiders) that index the content of your web site pages. For those spiders that obey the file, it provides a map for what they can, and cannot index.
Robots.txt Validation -You should validate your robots.txt file. Enter the full URI to the robots.txt file on your server. The robots.txt file always resides at the root level of your web.
6. HTML Comments Tag - HTML Markup -
There has been a myth that has perpetuated over the years where keywords and keyword phrases listed inside HTML comments tags would add a boost to the overall relevancy of the page. This is not true based on numerous tests we've performed during the years 2002 and 2003.
7. Article exchanges-You've heard of link exchanges, useless as they generally are. Article exchanges are like link exchanges, only much more useful. You publish someone else's article on the history of pudding pops with a link back to their site. They publish your article on the top ten pudding pop flavors in Viet Nam, with a link back to your site. You both have content. You both get high quality links. 8. Spending Sometimes Will be Beneficial - Regularly spend 30-40 minutes here and soon you will have a good network of friends with hundred or more bookmarks. Try to add two, three or friends and 4-5 links to your favorite sites. Now calculate, if you add 4 friends and 4 favorite links then within a month then you will have 120 friends and 120 favorite links.
Bookmark Daily : You should be active regularly else people will not add you in the network and even not vote your link. It is important to get traffic daily. If you bookmark something regularly, you will be active and people will notice your regular activity and they will add you in his network.
Bookmark Others Links : Add the links of others in your favorites if it is interesting and helpful to the others. This is the best way to attract the others and these members regularly visit your profile.
Bookmarklet Save Time : Add the one-click add on to your browser to save bookmark in just one click and it is the time saver and no need to login again and again. This option is provided by social media websites and it is time saving option.
Tags are Helpful : Don't forget to add tags relevant to the link you have added. The more tags means better to increase traffic but should not be unrelevant.
